Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Asake have officially released their first joint extended play (EP) titled REAL, Vol. 1. The four-track project is now available on all major streaming platforms worldwide.
The EP features the songs “Turbulence,” “Jogodo,” “Iskolodo,” and “Alaye.” It blends Afro-fusion sounds with rhythmic and melodic elements that reflect both artistes’ musical styles. Production on the project was handled by Magicsticks, L.o.L, and 4Tunes, giving the EP a consistent Afrobeats sound rooted in contemporary African music.
REAL, Vol. 1 was first announced in a joint interview in 2025 and follows weeks of online speculation and teasers from both artistes. The single “Jogodo” was released ahead of the EP and received positive attention from international media platforms including Billboard, Essence, Vibe, and OkayAfrica.
The focus track, “Turbulence,” is accompanied by a music video. The song introduces experimental elements while maintaining a dance-friendly structure. The remaining tracks, “Alaye” and “Iskolodo,” complete the EP with a balance of melody and rhythm.
Although Wizkid and Asake have collaborated on successful singles in the past, including the GRAMMY-nominated track “MMS,” REAL, Vol. 1 marks their first full collaborative body of work. The project brings together Wizkid’s long-standing influence in Afrobeats with Asake’s recent global rise and chart success.
Wizkid, with a career spanning over 17 years, and Asake, whose breakout success has defined the past five years, are both recognized for their contributions to the global expansion of Afrobeats. As long-time collaborators and supporters of each other’s work, the release of REAL, Vol. 1 represents a significant moment in their shared musical journey and highlights Nigeria’s continued impact on the global music scene.
